Time-based widgets’ plot point limits
Plot points on a By Time graph show you trends in your network. Data lines with more plot points give you a more detailed story allowing you to react appropriately.

Widgets that have the Reporting Interval set to By Time can have up to 180 time segments on them (the exception is threshold color bars having a 60 time segment maximum). The length of time you are analyzing determines the granularity of the time segments.
The collection interval also plays a part in how much data can be shown. The collection interval for Observer 17.1.1.0 and later is one minute, while the collection interval for Observer 17.1.0.2 and earlier is ten minutes. Because of the granularity of data collected Observer, the length of time that you choose in Apex determines the granularity of the time points on the graph. If your time range includes data collected at both one-minute and ten-minute intervals, the widget uses the ten minute plot points, and any one minute data is rolled up into a ten-minute data point.
