ICMP Request
This event is triggered when the number of ICMP Echo Requests (Pings) from a specific station exceeds the value set in the Expert Thresholds. A large number of pings can indicate:
♦Someone on your network is running a network scanning program that uses pings to discover hardware addresses.
♦A malicious user is scanning your system for IPs to enable a later attack.
♦Your system could be under a "ICMP flood" denial-of-service attack.
